MEET YOUR
TEACHERS
The foundation of GWY is Vinyasa Yoga: a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever identical.
GWY aspires to give our teachers the freedom to be unique and embrace what makes them different. Most yoga studies require teachers to go through a specific training and teach a specific way. All of our teachers at GWY come from different training backgrounds and have specialties in various areas. But the best part is they all love teaching vinyasa yoga and this is what makes us common and a family. We encourage you to try all of our teachers as they all have something unique to offer.
Christy Stransky
Owner and Instructor
I want to start by saying how honored I am to have you here. Whether you’re just discovering Gypsy Waltz or you’ve been a part of this journey for years, know that you are deeply appreciated. This space was created for you.
Through my journey in the years of owning Gypsy Waltz, I’ve come to understand something profound: everyone has a story, and every story deserves to be heard. Each person who walks through these doors carries their own journey—struggles, triumphs, moments of doubt, and breakthroughs. Gypsy Waltz was never meant to be just a fitness studio; it was meant to be a home—a place where you can come exactly as you are and be seen, supported, and loved.
The Journey to Gypsy Waltz
I’ve always been a gypsy at heart—a lover of travel, culture, and the pursuit of personal growth. My passion for experiencing the world, meeting new people, and embracing different ways of life is what ultimately led me to build something deeply meaningful.
My introduction to yoga was almost serendipitous. While living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, a dear friend invited me to a class, knowing I needed this practice more than I realized at the time. From the very first moment, I was hooked. The meditation, movement, and breathwork provided something I didn’t even know I was missing. That one hour in the studio became a sanctuary—a space where fear, anxiety, and expectations melted away. It grounded me, gave me clarity, and transformed me in ways I never expected.
That experience ignited a fire in me. I spent years exploring studios across the world, immersing myself in different practices, and learning from every culture I encountered. But more than anything, I discovered something simple yet profound:
Love is universal.
Everyone is allowed to have love and be loved.
Every story matters.
With this realization, Gypsy Waltz was born—not just as a studio, but as a movement, a community, and a place where people can find themselves, heal, and connect with others in a way that transcends words.
The Heartbeat of Gypsy Waltz
Owning this studio has taught me to never compromise on my values, to always move forward with faith, and to never look back in fear. My mission has never been about changing people but rather creating a space where people can discover the strength that was within them all along.
This is your journey.
This is your space.
I simply provide the foundation—you are the one who makes Gypsy Waltz extraordinary.
Every single person who steps into our studio is a hero in their own right. You are the reason this community thrives, and I am endlessly grateful for each and every one of you.
So, no matter where you are in life—whether you’re looking for renewal, growth, or just a place to breathe—know that you belong here. You are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply loved.
With gratitude & love,
Christy
Brooke Jones
Yoga Instructor Oxford
My journey to yoga started several years ago after reading an article that yoga is the best activity for someone with scoliosis. So I gave it a try and fell in love immediately. Most of us sign up for yoga for the physical aspect but quickly realize that it is SO much more than that. Yoga has taught me that you can be strong and vulnerable at the same time.
This practice changed my way of life so much that I made the decision to become a Yoga teacher myself. I completed training in the Spring of 2020. It is my goal for every class to create a space where you feel accepted and loved just the way you are.
I can’t wait to grow & breathe with you!
Taylor Carr
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
Hello to all you beautiful souls out there! My name is Taylor, and I found yoga (or the other way around) through meditation several years ago during a tough period of life. It became a daily practice almost immediately and has taught me so much along the way: such as discipline, confidence, strength, and acceptance amongst many other things. It remains an ongoing journey just as life goes, as we are always growing. Yoga had become such a passion and major part of my life through the process, I felt called to take it even further with my 200 hour certification so I would be able to share the magic with others. Hope to see you on the mat!
Janice Canion
Regional Manager and Instructor
Hi I’m Janice, I just moved here from Puyallup Washington. Finding a gym was the first thing on my to do list and I am thankful to have found GWY.
I started my fitness journey in high school swimming, playing water polo and lifeguarding. I took those skills and used them at Fort Lewis teaching all ages swim lessons, water aerobics and coaching the swim team. I moved on to managing the military training pool where I taught pool physical training, combat water survival and vehicle rollover training. After about 13 years in aquatics I stepped away to volunteer at my children’s school and regularly attend a gym.
I really enjoyed being in group fitness but missed my teaching days so I got certified to teach Barre and it was exactly what I was looking for. I love all of the different styles it offers and that anyone can do it. I am excited to serve my new community in their fitness journey and hope to see you in class!

Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
“Take time to do what makes your soul happy.”
Yoga has been a passion of mine for the last 20 years. Starting with my very first Core26 class back in 2005 to finding my true love in Buti Movement, this practice truly connects my mind, body and spirit. Gypsy is where we are given the space to be strong, vulnerable, fearless and feminine. It’s one of harmony, humility, peace and joy all in one. You feel it as soon as I you step foot in the studio, get to know your teachers, fellow students and create real connections with this beautiful tribe.
I can’t wait to see you on the matt :) - Marlene
Kayo Drozd
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
After trying about every form of exercise, I was introduced to yoga and automaticity fell in love. I’ve been practicing for a little over 10 years and it has now become something different for me, not only a way to sweat, but a new way of life. I came to realize that physical strength also welcomes the connection to the mind and spirit. It changed my body in nothing but positive ways and it continually challenges me. There is always a way to grow your practice. It never gets old! I can’t wait to see you on the mat here at Gypsy where there is nothing but the opportunity to grow and be you within the four corners of your mat. I look forward to sharing my love of this practice with each one of you!
All my love, Kayo

Jennifer Saucedo
Cycle Instructor New Braunfels
Hi, I’m Jennifer Saucedo! I’m all about music in every form, and I love creating rides where we can let loose, have fun, and not take ourselves too seriously. I bring playful, engaging energy to the bike while challenging you with heavy gear and endurance. I believe in moving our bodies because we can and not because we have to. My classes are about finding what feels good, making adjustments when you need them, and creating a space where we can take risks and discover what we’re capable of. I will be your biggest cheerleader in and out of the studio!
Avery Greene
Yoga Instructor Oxford
Hi! I’m Avery Greene, originally from Nashville, TN. Traveling the world with friends and family has been one of my greatest joys, and I’m always drawn to the sunshine and outdoor walks. My childhood was filled with various sports, but it was during my freshman year of high school, following ankle surgery, that I discovered a passion for yoga. What began as a new way to stay active has grown into something much deeper for me. As a college student away from home, Gypsy has become a cherished place to me. I’m excited to meet new faces and build connections within the Oxford community. Here’s to sharing smiles and growing stronger together!
Angela Zwinggi
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
I found yoga about eight years ago after bouncing between every kind of workout you can think of. Nothing really stuck—until I hit the mat. That first flow hit different, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What started as a workout turned into a lifestyle—one that challenges me, grounds me, and keeps me growing.
My classes are a vibe: think big beats, strong power flows, and intentional movement that pushes you past your comfort zone. You’ll sweat, you’ll laugh, and you’ll always leave feeling more connected—to your body, your breath, and something bigger than yourself.
Yoga doesn’t have a finish line—and that’s what makes it magic. I’m here for the growth, the grind, and the grace. Let’s move together at Gypsy—come ready to show up, level up, and be unapologetically you.
