Meet Your Teachers
The foundation of Gypsy Waltz Studios began with yogaβmovement connected to breath, intention, and the opportunity to become stronger from the inside out. While yoga will always be an important part of who we are, Gypsy has grown into so much more.
Today, our studios bring together a wide variety of movement and training styles, including yoga, cycling, rowing, barre, TRX, kettlebells, strength training, Pilates-inspired movement, rebounder classes, mobility, and more. Each modality offers something different, giving you the freedom to challenge your body, explore new ways to move, and find what serves you best in the season youβre in.
Just as no two classes are exactly alike, neither are our instructors. We believe in giving our teachers the freedom to bring their own training, personality, creativity, and strengths into the room while remaining rooted in the heart and standards of Gypsy.
What connects us isnβt one type of workout. Itβs our purpose. Whether youβre on a yoga mat, bike, rower, barre, or picking up a kettlebell, our hope is that you leave stronger, more grounded, more connected, and reminded that movement can impact far more than your physical body.
At Gypsy, we believe there is something powerful about trying something new, supporting one another, and continuing to show up.
Different movement. Different teachers. One community. One purpose.

I want to start by saying how honored I am to have you here. Whether youβre just discovering Gypsy Waltz or youβve been a part of this journey for years, know that you are deeply appreciated. This space was created for you.
Through my journey in the years of owning Gypsy Waltz, Iβve come to understand something profound: everyone has a story, and every story deserves to be heard. Each person who walks through these doors carries their own journeyβstruggles, triumphs, moments of doubt, and breakthroughs. Gypsy Waltz was never meant to be just a fitness studio; it was meant to be a homeβa place where you can come exactly as you are and be seen, supported, and loved.
The Journey to Gypsy Waltz
Iβve always been a gypsy at heartβa lover of travel, culture, and the pursuit of personal growth. My passion for experiencing the world, meeting new people, and embracing different ways of life is what ultimately led me to build something deeply meaningful.
My introduction to yoga was almost serendipitous. While living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, a dear friend invited me to a class, knowing I needed this practice more than I realized at the time. From the very first moment, I was hooked. The meditation, movement, and breathwork provided something I didnβt even know I was missing. That one hour in the studio became a sanctuaryβa space where fear, anxiety, and expectations melted away. It grounded me, gave me clarity, and transformed me in ways I never expected.
That experience ignited a fire in me. I spent years exploring studios across the world, immersing myself in different practices, and learning from every culture I encountered. But more than anything, I discovered something simple yet profound:
Love is universal.
Everyone is allowed to have love and be loved.
Every story matters.
With this realization, Gypsy Waltz was bornβnot just as a studio, but as a movement, a community, and a place where people can find themselves, heal, and connect with others in a way that transcends words.
The Heartbeat of Gypsy Waltz
Owning this studio has taught me to never compromise on my values, to always move forward with faith, and to never look back in fear. My mission has never been about changing people but rather creating a space where people can discover the strength that was within them all along.
This is your journey.
This is your space.
I simply provide the foundationβyou are the one who makes Gypsy Waltz extraordinary.
Every single person who steps into our studio is a hero in their own right. You are the reason this community thrives, and I am endlessly grateful for each and every one of you.
So, no matter where you are in lifeβwhether youβre looking for renewal, growth, or just a place to breatheβknow that you belong here. You are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply loved.
With gratitude & love,
Christy

Olivia Day
Yoga Instructor Oxford
Hi, Iβm Olivia! I started taking classes at Gypsy Waltz, and fell in love with the practice of yoga. Life can be stressful - Iβm an attorney and an over-thinker - so having a space to completely unplug and focus on moving your body allows your mind to slow down and quiet the noise.
I believe all things can be done for Godβs glory, and it has been so special to find a new way of worshipping my Savior. I canβt wait to grow with this community physically, mentally, and spiritually. See you on the mat!

Abigail Kemter
Cycle and Bounce Instructor New Braunfels
Hey yall, Iβm Abby Kemter! Iβm an avid runner, triathlete, and lover of all things cardio. Cycling became my way to heal my body and mind, and along the way I discovered how powerful movement can be, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.
I started teaching because I wanted to share that feeling with others to create a space where people can challenge themselves, find strength, and feel proud of what their bodies can do. In my classes, Iβm here to push you, cheer you on, and help you celebrate every victory big or small. Letβs ride hard, move with intention, and leave stronger than when we started. π

Janice Canion
Cardio Instructor New Braunfels
Hi Iβm Janice, I just moved here from Puyallup Washington. Finding a gym was the first thing on my to do list and I am thankful to have found GWY.
I started my fitness journey in high school swimming, playing water polo and lifeguarding. I took those skills and used them at Fort Lewis teaching all ages swim lessons, water aerobics and coaching the swim team. I moved on to managing the military training pool where I taught pool physical training, combat water survival and vehicle rollover training. After about 13 years in aquatics I stepped away to volunteer at my childrenβs school and regularly attend a gym.
I really enjoyed being in group fitness but missed my teaching days so I got certified to teach Barre and it was exactly what I was looking for. I love all of the different styles it offers and that anyone can do it. I am excited to serve my new community in their fitness journey and hope to see you in class!

You feel it as soon as I you step foot in the studio, get to know your teachers, fellow students and create real connections with this beautiful tribe.

Angela Zwinggi
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
I found yoga about eight years ago after bouncing between every kind of workout you can think of. Nothing really stuckβuntil I hit the mat. That first flow hit different, and Iβve been hooked ever since. What started as a workout turned into a lifestyleβone that challenges me, grounds me, and keeps me growing.
My classes are a vibe: think big beats, strong power flows, and intentional movement that pushes you past your comfort zone. Youβll sweat, youβll laugh, and youβll always leave feeling more connectedβto your body, your breath, and something bigger than yourself.
Yoga doesnβt have a finish lineβand thatβs what makes it magic. Iβm here for the growth, the grind, and the grace. Letβs move together at Gypsyβcome ready to show up, level up, and be unapologetically you.

Alyssa Edgerton
Cycle Instructor New Braunfels
Hi, my name is Alyssa! My passion for being an instructor began back in 2019 when I first started teaching at CycleBar in Midland, TX. Since then, my love for leading a room, building community, and uplifting others through movement has only grownβand Iβm so excited to bring that same energy to Gypsy!
With a background in health and exercise science and years of experience as a nurse, I have a deep appreciation for what our bodies are capable of. On the bike, my classes are high-energy, rhythm-driven, and all about leaving you stronger, lighter, and more confident than when you walked in. Expect good vibes, sweaty smiles, and playlists that make you want to dance on the bike! For me, itβs more than just a workoutβitβs about connection, empowerment, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
When Iβm not at the studio, Iβm either working as an aesthetic nurse injector, curating floral arrangements for my small business, Two Tβs Flower Shop, or spending time outside. Whether Iβm in my scrubs, TIEMs, or surrounded by stems, my goal is always the same: to help others feel confident, empowered, and inspired.
I canβt wait to see you in class and ride it out together!

Macy Bucek
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
Originally from Arlington, I moved to New Braunfels in 2014 and have loved river-town life ever since. Outside the studio, you can usually find me outdoors with my fiancΓ©β fly fishing, catching live music, or at home with our crew of three cats and a dog, working on a puzzle and watching murder mysteries or sports.
Six years ago, I took my first hot yoga class at Gypsyβ completely lost and searching for peace. This studio brought me back to myself, gave me clarity, and changed my life. Today, I get to teach in the very room where it all began and I couldnβt be more grateful.

Melanie Leeves
Yoga Instructor New Braunfels
I have always loved working out being a former ballerina and runner. I started practicing yoga in 1994. I discovered that in 1999 I wanted a deeper understanding so I started my self practice (mysore) and began to develop a love for Ashtanga yoga. I practiced Ashtanga solely until 2013. I opened my heart to other types of yoga and realized I have a love for the practice and a desire to share my passion with others. I received my RYT 200 hr and continued to practice yoga at Gypsy Waltz until finally gaining the opportunity to teach, practice and share community with my friends at Gypsy Waltz. I love teaching Barre, Bounce, yoga, KB & TRX. I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
